Community Activity Days

Only 32 days until summer! I bet you’re looking forward to getting outside with a bit more freedom in the coming weeks.

With the days warming up and better weather just around the corner, many of us are thinking about getting into more outside activities in the many beautiful locations here in Gippsland. I’m no different and am getting super excited to spend more time on a surfboard and at the beach.

I hold ‘Community Activity Days’ on the last Saturday of each month and with restrictions starting to open up I think we’ll have more success in getting back together as a group in nature. By donating my time, these days can run at the lowest cost possible to try and make adventure activities accessible for people who may not normally have the means to pay the full cost of a guided session.

I hope these days will provide a safe space for you and your family to try new experiences, widen your social circle and discover parts of Gippsland that you may not know about. It’s a community focused event where we can all connect and enjoy some positive social interaction in a beautiful natural setting.

These are some of the activities that will be on offer:

· Stand Up Paddle Boarding

· Snorkeling

· Canoeing

· Abseiling

· Rock climbing

· Nature walks

· Bush craft

· Caving

As we re open the state and begin to enjoy events such as these, we all need to ensure we keep each other safe. Gippsland Adventure Therapy will ensure all staff are fully vaccinated and follow a COVID safe plan and the governance set out by Parks Victoria and DHS for all licensed tours operating on public land.

At this stage all participants over 16 will need to be fully vaccinated to attend.

Keep an eye out on the social pages and in your inbox for announcements of the month’s activity.

Yours in adventure,

Doug Moczynski

A true acknowledgement is a recognition that we know and understand the lore about how to stay safe on Country and how to keep Country safe. I don't have this knowledge, but I am working towards living, working and playing on Country in a respectful way that works towards First Nations People gaining self-determination and decolonisation. I acknowledge that I live and work on the unceded countries of the Kurnai and GunaiKurnai People and pay my respect to all elders past and present. I also acknowledge all First Nations People and acknowledge their long unbroken connection to Country.
