My how we've grow

Much has happened over the summer of 2022, demand for the Gippsland Adventure Therapy service has remained constant and I’ve been working to increase my ability to meet the need of our community.

It is with great pleasure to announce that when referring to Gippsland Adventure Therapy instead of saying ‘I’, I’ll now be saying ‘we’!

I’d like to introduce you to Danae Callaghan who’ll be coming on board. Danae is an accredited counsellor with the Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia and will be offering individual clinical outdoor counselling sessions for young people within the Latrobe Valley.

Danae will bring a unique skill set to Gippsland Adventure Therapy and can provide safe and engaging counselling sessions in the outdoors. This might look like a nature walk whilst searching for geocaches, creating some nature art or coming up with your own unique adventure and of course making it ‘Fun, Safe and Useful’.

Danae has qualifications in Human and Community Services, Developmental Trauma, Forensic Behavioural Science, with a few more in Social Work and Relationship Counselling on the go.

Danae is available now for 2-hour sessions. Reach out via the website if you’d like to

Yours in adventure

A true acknowledgement is a recognition that we know and understand the lore about how to stay safe on Country and how to keep Country safe. I don't have this knowledge, but I am working towards living, working and playing on Country in a respectful way that works towards First Nations People gaining self-determination and decolonisation. I acknowledge that I live and work on the unceded countries of the Kurnai and GunaiKurnai People and pay my respect to all elders past and present. I also acknowledge all First Nations People and acknowledge their long unbroken connection to Country.
